At Code Camp I wanted to emphasize the variety of careers available in tech.
Every major company relies on a diverse team of tech professionals to operate their business. Our visitors included, Juan Fabrega, a Data Engineer at Palmetto, Michael Small, an Ethical Hacker at Tandem Cyber Solutions, and Ryan Shrum, a Front End Developer at BoomTown. Each did a great job of explaining why they love what they do and how they support their clients.
Juan Fabrega- Data Engineer, Palmetto
When you visit a website, it’s common for a site to collect information about how you got there and how you used the site. Data engineers like Juan collect and analyze the information to help a company make informed business decisions and provide better service. Watch him explain how he learned to code.
Michael Small- Ethical Hacker, Tandem Cyber Solutions
Michael is an ethical hacker. An ethical hacker is a cybersecurity expert that helps businesses by imitating a malicious hack to expose vulnerabilities. Watch him explain cybersecurity to the kids.
Ryan Shrum- Front End Developer, BoomTown
Ryan is a front-end developer at BoomTown. He works to make sure that BoomTown products are easy to use and optimized for performance. Ryan says that front-end development is much more exciting than his graphic design work. Watch the video to find out why.
Terms like hacker, developer, and engineer are very generic terms.
These videos are part of a career series that aims to help students connect with tech professionals and gain a greater understanding of the opportunities available in technology.
